Wintery Mix

We are getting our share of the wintry Wisconsin mix-sleet, rain and snow. Abit colder and icier this season compared to last but I like the additional moisture. We are also doing more snow shoveling and snowblowing. But we can handle that at our own pace.

On February 6th, my beautiful, sweet mare, Ellie left us. I will be adjusting to the void in my life and it will take some time as with the death of any person or pet. Sporty and Lindy (ponies) sense the loss also. I will buy another horse someday soon.

Our own Shay goat doe, had her first kids, twin bucks, also on the 6th. Seems strange one life ends and more arrive. So is the way of the world.

Dennis is now milking 4 goats and bottle feeding two kids. Also making and freezing goat cheese.

I turned my ponies out today in the slush and they enjoyed a good snow roll and both were feeling pretty frisky. I've been keeping them in the horsebarn more as it has been so icy out. I don't want them to risk a fall. I haven't fallen yet this Winter either.

The hens, cats and kittens are all doing fine.

My grandkids are growing up fast. They are getting so independent. I get to see the littler ones, Dominic and Brielle more often than Haily and Justin. They are both school age now. 

I have a Scenty going and the whole house smells like sticky cinnamon buns. Love those Scentsy scents!

Hoping for an early Spring. I'm in the mood to look through garden catalogs and start picking out my vegetable seeds.
