June is here already. First crop hay is in with 236 bales from hayfield and 58 off horse pasture. Considerably lower than last year. This can only mean we will try to get a second and third crop and not sell any hay. Then rent out our hayfield, (have a neighbor who wants it already), to have another crop put on it, for three years, probably corn. It is time to rotate the field. So we will have to keep back all our hay as within 3 yrs. time we will be buying. At least we can take the rent money and put that toward buying hay. Also we can still bale the grass hay off the horse pasture those years. A shout out to Carrie, Aundray and Mason for helping us with our hay this year.
Garden is growing. We are eating fresh onions from it. I'm busy with hilling up the potatoes and weeding.
We have had a serious problem with a drunk person that won't stay off of our property. He is not family or friend to us. So we had the law enforcement out to give him a warning, otherwise, we will press charges. He has been trespassing into our barn and on our land. We don't look for trouble, it comes right to our door.
The rainfall has been okay, always can use more. We've been lucky so far at the farm, no severe damage from storms the last several years. Hope this continues.
Looking for treasures at garage sales. I got a great deal on baling twine, also been getting clothes and DVD's for my grandkids. Those little ones sure are growing. I even got myself a few items, I love kitchen hand/dish towels. As I don't have a dishwasher, I use them alot. Also I stockpile candles of all kinds for power outages. Dennis now has plenty of shirts as he burns through those doing work on the farm. We have gotten great deals on shirts for him.
Summer will be arriving in a couple weeks. Enjoy it!
