I didn't allow myself to get that attached to the bucklings as I knew they would be sold. We saw them sold, got great prices and they each went to a different home but I'm sure a good one. A lady with her two little boys bought one of our billys. They sat not to far from us. She held the buck on her lap during the sale, coddled him, covered him with her jacket while the little ones petted and kissed the top of his head. Can't get better or cuter than that! All will be raised either for breeding or a pet. We didn't castrate any of them so the new owners have that option. Feels good to raise something so cute and share with others. We can't keep the bucks as they are all related to our does. We have two young bucks, different bloodlines for the does.
A woman had surgery and has a health problem and sold her whole herd of milking does, babies, everything. So sad. Most of the goats at the sale were hers. She had a variety of breeds of goats too, some beautiful, some needing more feed and their feet trimmed. Interesting sale.
We moved Olivia doe (she isn't growing well, born small, we still bottle feed her) into the sold bucklings pen, then put Nevaeh in the pen with Shay (Shay doe is almost as big as Nevaeh, Shay is Olivia's twin). So Bravo has his pen to himself. Griff buck is in his own. The two PG does, Solo and Blossom share the larger pen. Prairie and Destiny are together in their pen. Solo will kid in March. Blossom in April. Not sure if Nevaeh is bred yet.
Sassy dog is doing about the best as expected. She is adapting to the seizure medicine. Since she had two teeth extracted and the couple she has left cleaned, her breath is so much better. She is eating better and I hope she gains alittle more weight.
Speaking of weight. I have lost 8#. I always was a skinny kid and scary skinny (not by choice) until I reached middle age. I liked my new curves and fluff, I'm a Nana after all. I decided, though I'm not overweight, to shed a few pounds now. Never did this before but I am slowly losing weight, not snacking much at night and using the elliptical.
We had an awesome Fall and a mild Winter. Maybe the states with the warm, beautiful weather will start getting worse weather and ours will change to milder. Then everyone will move to Wisconsin. Get outdoors and enjoy it. Spring is coming......
